Programme For June 9 Launch of FFF and Dr.Dog

Read on to learn more of what will be taking place on June 9 at the launch of the Furry Friends Farm and Dr. Dog Programme.

The day will begin with registration for the Children's Art Contest from 8:30 - 9:00 am. So those of you bringing your kids make sure you come early to get them registered.

Jill Robinson will give a talk on the Dr. Dog Programme and her truly amazing achievements for animals. What she has done for the Moon Bears and dogs and cats are unprecedented.

Operafest Children's Choir will be performing a musical play with a special theme on animal welfare. The Operafest Children's Choir became the first Malaysian Choir to have won second place in the famous Llangollen, International Eisteddfod, Wales, and third place in the Koorfestival of Arnheim, Holland, a choir olympics held once every four years.

Since then, The Operafest Children's Choir has been propelled into the international circuit with invitations to perform abroad. In Montana, USA the choir was rated among the top 20, out of some 150 participating choirs all over the world. Mrs Kam the founder of the choir considers it a great honour to do something for animals and FFF is honoured to have them perform at the launch.

There will be a drill performance by the Dog Scouts of Malaysia. The Dog Scouts of Malaysia are disgusted with dogs being tied up or caged 24/7 because of public perception that their only use is to ward of potential burglars.

Dog Scouts of Malaysia (DSM) hopes to change public perception through education with an emphasis on FUN. Fun for the dogs and for all people coming in contact with dogs. In pursuing these goals DSM conducts camps, seminars and outings, retreats for members and their dogs.

The event at the park will close by 1:00 pm. But those who have filled out applications to enter their dogs for the Dr. Dog Programme will need to come back at 4 pm to Pet Safari, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, to have their dogs examined by Jill Robinson. Selected dogs will be taken the next day to a home for senior citizens and another centre for youth rehabilitation.

Come and see these great performances and hang out with the kids and dogs for a fun-filled and enlightening time.

See you on June 9 at Central Park!
