Whose Dog Is This?

This is a photo of Gideon whom I found wandering about dazed and exhausted on the highway just after Bangsar leading to the Federal Highway. I had to stop speeding cars to coax him over to a safe spot before rescuing him.

Does anyone recognize Gideon? Do you know who is pining for him right now?
The vet told my husband and I that Gideon, although quite an old dog, has been kept immaculately groomed and in tip top condition. He said he had never seen a dog so well cared for. So his guess is that whoever has been caring for him is probably heart-broken right now.

Well, so is Gideon. So heart-broken he is not even eating and seems depressed. My husband and I are very worried about this. Please let us know if you know who Gideon's guardian is. If you can post this onto any other website, blog, etc. that would help Gideon's chances.

    Good work Shoba! That's very noble of you! Awww..he's so adorable! Shoba, have you tried posting DOG FOUND notice in Bangsar area where you found him? Eg: Seven Eleven...house to house? I know its a lot of work but one of my friend did this last time and it works! But you gotta keep an eye on imposters, see how Gideon react when he sees them.

    OK. Good idea. Already posted on Puppy.com. Will try other avenues. Thanks for the advice.

    He's eating only birdie bites now but looks happier since I play and spend time with him on walks. Lot of work but need to keep the poor fella's spirits up.

    passed the word around. hope his owner gets him back. Surely they r hearbroken. But if they dont then at least a great new owner found him n im sure he'll get lots of love. Sorry didnt kno u found him shoba..normally speed thru articles n my speed reading is well...

    hav his owners claimed him yet? hope hes well.

    on sheba ..well shes such a good dog...cant help missing her. Thats why is best to luv them as much as can while they are around.

    I posted this on Malaysia Dog and Puppy Portal website. Here's one of the reply:

    Hi. I went to the blog to check out the details - couldn't contact the blogger since I don't have a login password. Maybe you can forward this info to the blogger.

    I was at Animal Polyclinic in Old Klang Road yesterday - the end of OKR which is right by the Federal Highway - and there was a notice about a missing poodle on the board. Yes, I know the dog in the photo in the blog doesn't look like a poodle but then the one in the photo at the vet's notice board didn't particularly look like a poodle either. The poodle was predominantly black with tan areas rather like the dog in the blog. The poodle is called Prince. No mention of the poodle's age in the notice.

    Perhaps your friend could call the dog "Prince" to see if there is any reaction? The telephone no for Animal Polyclinic for more info is 03 79827432.

    How very kind of you for posting Gideon's plight on Puppy.com.

    Yes, I will certainly check out the notice. Will call the clinic first as Gideon is far from a poodle. He looks more like a small version of a Chow Chow.

    That's like a vast difference from a poodle. But no harm in investigating if the person thinks Gideon looks like the dog in the photo.

    Thank you so much Syahr-el for your kindness. Actually, I've had no luck in finding Gideon's guardians and so I decided to keep him. The vet said he is old and has some health problems but I've prayed against all that for his complete healing.

    I'm happy to report he is doing very well and overcome all the health problems he is medically supposed to have. Heh heh. The power of prayer.

    So because of all this my husband and I are now wondering if the guardians abandoned him because he is old. Never mind, whatever it is we will do our very best to ensure Gideon is happy.
